The launch of the plant will increase the share of domestically produced medicines and reduce dependence on imports

A large-scale investment project to expand the production facilities of JSC “Khimpharm” (trademark: “Polpharma Santo”) is set to be implemented in Shymkent. The relevant investment agreement has been approved by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

It is worth noting that the total volume of private investment will amount to approximately 40 billion tenge. The project предусматривает the construction of new production facilities and the expansion of the product line to 38 types of medicines, including treatments for oncological, cardiovascular, and infectious diseases.

The launch of the first phase of production is scheduled for the end of 2029. As part of the investment project, about 300 new jobs will be created, which will have a positive impact on the socio-economic development of the metropolis.

The Polish side also intends to build a Quality and Innovation Center in Shymkent, which will include a research and testing center as well as modern laboratories for the development of new pharmaceutical products.

It should be emphasized that the opening of the plant will increase the share of domestic pharmaceutical production, reduce dependence on imports, and strengthen Shymkent’s position as one of the country’s key pharmaceutical hubs.
