Construction of the “Kalkaman” metro station in Almaty to be completed in summer 2026

Work is underway around the clock

Akim of Almaty Darkhan SATYBALDY inspected the construction progress of the “Kalkaman” metro station and the adjacent tunnels, his adviser on communications and media relations, Ilzat AKCHURIN, reported.

According to Akchurin, rail installation in the left running tunnel has been completed, lighting has been installed, and cables, water supply, drainage systems, and brackets for engineering equipment have been laid.

“The installation of video surveillance systems, audio alert systems, fire and security alarms is still ahead. In the right tunnel, the main tunneling work has been completed. At the station, monolithic structures are being finalized, finishing works are underway, communications are being laid, and preparations for equipment installation are in progress,” the akim’s adviser also reported.

He assured that the work is being carried out around the clock and is scheduled for completion by the end of the first half of 2026.
