What Did Kazakhstan’s New Foreign Minister and the Russian Ambassador Discuss?

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yermek KOSHERBAYEV, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation, Alexey BORODAVKIN.

According to the statement, at the beginning of the meeting, the Russian diplomat conveyed congratulations from Sergey LAVROV to the Kazakh minister on his recent appointment as head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The two sides held a constructive discussion on the current state and future of bilateral relations. They noted that cooperation is steadily progressing, fully in line with the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries.

According to the ministry, special emphasis was placed on preparations for the upcoming state visit of President Kassym-Jomart TOKAYEV of Kazakhstan to Russia.

“The importance of this visit for strengthening ties across a broad range of issues was reaffirmed,” the MFA press service reported.

In addition, Kosherbayev and Borodavkin exchanged views on current international and regional issues. At the conclusion of the talks, both diplomats expressed readiness to continue close coordination and engage in constructive cooperation on the global stage.
