Russian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Alexey BORODAVKIN announced that joint Russian–Kazakh schools will open in three southern cities – Kyzylorda, Taraz, and Turkestan. According to him, the new educational institutions will be based on the experience of “Sirius,” and Russian language, mathematics, and natural sciences will be taught at an advanced level. Graduates will be able to enroll in branches of Russian higher education institutions operating in Kazakhstan.
“I hope that the successful experience of ‘Sirius’ will serve as a guideline for implementing other educational initiatives, primarily the agreement between our presidents to build joint schools in the cities of Kazakhstan and Russia. As for Kazakhstan, we are talking about the cities of Kyzylorda, Taraz, and Turkestan,” the diplomat said in an interview with TASS.
Earlier, the Russian ambassador also announced when Putin is expected to visit Kazakhstan.
According to Alexey Borodavkin, the head of the Russian Federation will visit Astana in May. The exact date of the visit is currently being discussed by the two sides. The ambassador stated that Putin’s trip to Kazakhstan will become “one of the brightest pages” in the history of relations between the two countries.
Vladimir Putin’s last visit to Kazakhstan took place in November 2024. At that time, Astana hosted the summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. In turn, Kassym-Jomart TOKAYEV last visited Moscow in November 2025.
