New power units and stations are also expected to be commissioned

Oil production in Kazakhstan declined in the first quarter of the year, with subsoil users producing just under 20 million tons of crude, reports 24KZ.

To stabilize the situation, negotiations with major companies are currently underway, and a new compressor is being commissioned at Karachaganak to maintain reservoir pressure. This will help keep oil production at around 10–11 million tons per year. At the same time, domestic demand for energy resources is growing.

Gas consumption has increased by nearly 9%. A gas processing plant at Kashagan is scheduled for completion this year. In parallel, the government is accelerating refinery projects. Existing plants in Shymkent, Pavlodar, and Atyrau are set for large-scale expansion. New power units and stations are planned, while the share of renewable energy sources is also increasing. Their output has grown by 15% compared to last year.
