Kazakhstan has suspended a number of joint projects with Iran

Grain supplies and projects related to mutual trade in food products have been put on hold

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arman ISETOV announced the freezing of several joint projects with Iran, Kazinform reports.

“As you understand, the situation is very complicated at the moment. Currently, many of our projects with Iran have been frozen due to the fact that the country is in a state of war. In this regard, I believe that our businesses and entrepreneurs are now in a wait-and-see mode,” the deputy minister said at a briefing in the Senate.

Among the suspended areas, he highlighted grain supplies as well as projects involving mutual trade in food products.

“Kazakhstan is not suffering significant losses, because the volume we had was not substantial enough to have a major impact on the country’s economic situation. Nevertheless, given that we have good partnership relations with Iran, there is, of course, some effect, but I think it is not very large,” Isetov added.
