Uzbekistan Mistakenly Called Kazakhstan: American TV Channel Error at World Cup 2026

Viewers noticed the mistake and quickly spread the broadcast fragment on social media

American TV channel FOX Sports made an error during the broadcast of the World Cup 2026 match between Uzbekistan and Colombia, reports 24.kz.

During the live broadcast, commentator Jacqui OATLEY referred to the Uzbekistan national team as Kazakhstan’s team.

The mistake was spotted by viewers and quickly circulated on social media.

The match took place at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. For Uzbekistan’s national team, this game marked their debut at the World Cup.

The match ended with Colombia’s victory, 3–1.

The first-ever goal in Uzbekistan’s World Cup history was scored by Abbosbek FAYZULLAEV in the 60th minute.

The next match for Fabio CANNAVARO’S team will be on June 23 against Portugal.
