Dutch Coach Appointed Head of Kazakhstan National Team

At the international level, he has coached Greece and Armenia

The Football Federation of Kazakhstan has reached an agreement with Dutch specialist John van ’t SCHIP to serve as head coach of the national team.

According to the federation’s official website, the appointment will be formally confirmed after approval by the KFF Executive Committee, which will meet in the coming days. John van ’t Schip will replace Talgat BAYSUFINOV, who resigned in June.

The 62‑year‑old van ’t Schip is well known to local fans not only for his coaching career but also as a former player. During his playing days, he represented Amsterdam’s Ajax and Italy’s Genoa, and was part of the Netherlands national team that won the 1988 European Championship. He began his coaching career within Ajax’s system, later managing the club’s first team, as well as working with Twente, Zwolle, Mexico’s Guadalajara, and Australia’s Melbourne City, with whom he won the 2016 FFA Cup. Internationally, he has coached the national teams of Greece and Armenia.

Joining van ’t Schip in Kazakhstan’s coaching staff will be Nurbol ZHUMASKALIEV and Yeldos AKHMETOV, Yuri NOVIKOV (goalkeeper coach), Vadim BOROVSKY (fitness coach), and Timur KUSAINOV (analyst).
