And three Kazakh schools will appear in Russia

Kazakhstan and Russia are working on the construction of six joint schools. This was announced by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey LAVROV during a briefing following talks with Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev, Kazinform reports.

According to Lavrov, cooperation in the field of education remains one of the priorities of bilateral relations.

Last year, a branch of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University began operating in Russia. In turn, Kazakhstan hosts eight branches of Russian universities, including MGIMO.

“On the agenda of our dialogue is the issue of building six joint schools, three in Russia and three in Kazakhstan,” Lavrov said.

Separately, the Russian Foreign Minister thanked the Kazakh side for its contribution to the creation of the International Organization for the Russian Language, initiated by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart TOKAYEV. The organization’s secretariat began work on April 1 at the Sirius Educational Center in Sochi.

Earlier it was reported that branches of the Russian school for supporting gifted children “Sirius” are planned to open in Astana and Almaty.
