In July 2026, the number of housing purchase and sale transactions in Kazakhstan fell by 4.9% compared to June, Astana TV reported, citing the Bureau of National Statistics.
In total, 37,158 transactions were registered during the month, down from 39,053 the previous month.
The highest activity in the real estate market was traditionally recorded in major cities and industrial regions:
The lowest figure was registered in Ulytau Region — only 311 transactions (0.8%).
Monthly dynamics varied significantly across regions:
Transactions involving apartments in multi-storey buildings accounted for 76.9% of the total (28,575 sales), down 2.9% month-on-month.
Sales of individual houses fell most sharply: down 10.8% in July (to 8,583 transactions). Positive dynamics were observed in Zhambyl Region (+9.9%), Zhetysu Region (+7.3%), and Shymkent (+5.3%).
Meanwhile, house sales collapsed in Mangystau Region (-49%), Ulytau Region (-47%), and Karaganda Region (-32.9%).
Compared to July 2025, the total number of housing transactions in the country decreased by 6.5% (from 39,742 to 37,158). The strongest annual growth was recorded in Ulytau Region (+25.9%), while the steepest decline was in Kyzylorda Region (-21.4%).
Overall, in the first seven months of 2026 (January–July), housing market activity fell by 2.6% compared to the same period last year.
