On September 25, all road border checkpoints between Kazakhstan and China will temporarily suspend operations, the State Revenue Committee of Kazakhstan has announced. The restrictions are being introduced in connection with China’s Mid-Autumn Festival. Rail crossings between the two countries will continue to operate as normal.
«The State Revenue Committee informs that, due to the celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival in the People’s Republic of China, the passage of individuals, vehicles, and cargo through road border checkpoints on the Kazakhstan-China border will not be carried out on September 25, 2026,» the agency said in a statement.
There are currently five road border checkpoints operating between China and Kazakhstan:
As a result, on September 25, all of these checkpoints will be closed, and road transport links between the two countries will be temporarily suspended.
At the same time, rail transportation will continue operating as usual. The Dostyk and Altynkol railway crossings on the Kazakhstan-China border will continue handling cargo traffic regardless of the holiday.
