Sixteen-year-old midfielder Davide ZARECHNY, a member of Kazakhstan’s U-17 national team, successfully completed a trial with the academy of Russian club KRASNODAR but ultimately did not join the club’s system. According to amanvibe.kz, the reason was a condition related to changing his sporting nationality.
In August, the KFF Academy player traveled to Krasnodar for a trial. Reports indicate that the Kazakh midfielder impressed during his stay and successfully passed the evaluation period. However, the parties were unable to reach an agreement. According to available information, the Russian club was prepared to sign the player on the condition that he change his sporting nationality.
Zarechny declined the offer and returned to Kazakhstan.
This season, Davide has been playing in the QJ League, where he has made 11 appearances, scoring five goals and providing four assists.
The young footballer’s story is noteworthy not only because of the interest shown by one of Russia’s well-known academies, but also because of the player’s principled stance. If the information is confirmed, the case will serve as another example of the difficult choices young footballers can face when receiving opportunities from clubs abroad.
