Kazakh-Turkish relations are strengthening in all areas within the framework of expanded strategic partnership

Kazakhstan and Turkey confirmed their intention to raise mutual trade turnover to $15 billion. This was announced by President of Turkey Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN at the 6th meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between Kazakhstan and Turkey, Kazinform reports.

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also noted that Kazakh-Turkish relations are being reinforced in all spheres under the expanded strategic partnership.

“During the meeting, we exchanged views on many issues: from trade to cooperation in the fields of energy, defense industry, transport, and logistics. We also discussed the global agenda. We confirmed our intention to raise bilateral trade turnover to $15 billion. To achieve this target, we consider it important to ensure the implementation of the 67-point Action Plan adopted at the 14th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in Astana on April 15. We will continue to support companies in the field of investment. I believe that such events as today’s business forum, which bring together the business communities of the two countries, are of great importance for deepening our trade and economic ties”, said the Turkish leader.

At the Council meeting, Kazakhstan was represented by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy Serik ZHUMANGARIN, Chairman of the Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC Nurlan ZHAKUPOV, while the Turkish side was represented by Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan FIDAN and Minister of Trade Bolat OMER.
