Kazakh Student Dies in Italy

According to preliminary information, the cause of his death may have been drowning

A student from Kazakhstan has died in Italy. The information was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazinform reports.

Reports of the young man’s death had earlier appeared on social media. According to available data, the deceased was a graduate of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Uralsk and was studying in his third year at Unicas University in the city of Cassino. Preliminary information suggests that the cause of his death may have been drowning.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan expresses its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. Our Embassy and the competent authorities of Italy are investigating the circumstances of the incident,” the MFA of Kazakhstan stated.

The ministry also noted that Kazakhstani diplomats are maintaining contact with the relatives of the deceased and providing them with the necessary consular and legal assistance.
