The greatest demand for workers is expected in Astana

Kazakhstan is anticipating a shortage of personnel in several fields of activity, reports 24KZ.

According to Finprom.kz, the highest demand in the labor market this year will be concentrated mainly in the segment of mass and manual professions, as well as in the social sphere.

The top 10 most in-demand professions in 2026 include:

  • General laborers (80.9 thousand vacancies)
  • Other unskilled workers (63.9 thousand vacancies)
  • Janitors and outdoor cleaners (50.8 thousand vacancies)
  • Secondary school teachers in social sciences (33.5 thousand vacancies)
  • Mid-level medical care staff (26.3 thousand vacancies)
  • Unskilled workers in manufacturing (22 thousand vacancies)
  • Caregivers for the sick (20.2 thousand vacancies)
  • Office cleaners (20 thousand vacancies)
  • Preschool educators (19.7 thousand vacancies)
  • Indoor cleaners (19 thousand vacancies)

At the same time, the greatest demand for workers is expected in Astana (128 thousand vacancies), Almaty (102 thousand), as well as in Turkestan (98 thousand), Pavlodar (88 thousand), and Karaganda (77 thousand) regions. The fewest vacancies are forecasted in Ulytau (19 thousand), Mangystau (26 thousand), and Zhetysu (28 thousand) regions.
