Satpayev could become the first Kazakhstani player ever to feature in the Premier League

The official English Premier League website, in its review of team preparations for the new season, highlighted Chelsea’s newcomer from Kazakhstan, Dastan SATPAYEV, reports Kazinform.

While covering Chelsea, the EPL editors noted that Kazakhstani footballer Dastan Satpayev caused a sensation during Chelsea’s pre-season tour. A video of his goal against Western Sydney Wanderers, posted by the club on Instagram, gathered nearly one million likes.

It was mentioned that the 17-year-old forward, a star in his native Kazakhstan, received permission from Almaty’s Kairat to join Xabi ALONSO’S team this summer ahead of his anticipated move to Chelsea. He put his future team ahead in the seventh minute of an exciting friendly match on Tuesday against the Wanderers in Australia, which ended in a 6–4 victory.

Already capped nine times for the national team, Satpayev could become the first Kazakhstani player ever to appear in the Premier League, though the EPL site notes Chelsea is still considering his development.

“We still have decisions to make. He poses a threat to opponents, attacks well from the flanks, and is strong as a forward cutting in from wide positions. He is really powerful, very fast, and I was very impressed with him,” the EPL site quoted Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso about the young talent, who is being compared to the great Sergio AGÜERO, scorer of 184 goals in this competition for Manchester City.

The EPL site also emphasizes that Chelsea has prioritized signing promising young players from around the world in the current transfer campaign.
