The RWB Group, which owns Wildberries, has begun actively searching for warehouse facilities in Kazakhstan. The company is considering rental options starting from 100,000 square meters or even the possibility of purchasing all available properties in the country.
The main goal of the marketplace is to move part of its operations out of the threat zone of new Ukrainian drone attacks, which previously struck the company’s warehouses in Russia.
Finding the necessary space will be very difficult for Russians. The total volume of quality logistics facilities in Kazakhstan amounts to only 1.9 million square meters, with a vacancy rate of just 5.8%.
In Russia itself, Wildberries has faced serious problems: local property owners refuse to sign new lease agreements with the company. The reason is not the lack of premises, but the high risks. The presence of Wildberries goods automatically turns a warehouse into a declared target for drones.
