Deputies sound the alarm

Majilis deputy Danabek ISABEKOV stated that there is a lack of quality digital content for children in the Kazakh language and proposed strengthening control over popular social platforms, reports 24.kz.

According to the deputy, during the summer holidays children and teenagers spend significantly more time online, exposed to the influence of social networks, short videos, and online games.

“We must admit that today the consciousness of our children is often shaped not by school, but by TikTok,” said Danabek Isabekov.

He noted that Kazakh-language cartoons, educational platforms, popular science programs, and children’s media projects are still unable to compete with the volume of content offered by international digital platforms.

“As a result, clip thinking intensifies, the national cultural code weakens, the influence of foreign culture increases, and a quality digital environment in the Kazakh language has yet to be formed,” the deputy emphasized.

According to him, the country still lacks cartoons, educational IT platforms, and popular science YouTube projects for children in Kazakh. At the same time, mechanisms for controlling content that can negatively affect children’s psyche remain insufficiently effective.

In this regard, Isabekov proposed developing a state strategy for the development of digital content for children in Kazakh, strengthening measures to ensure internet safety for teenagers during summer holidays, improving mechanisms for restricting harmful content on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and other social networks, as well as expanding support for Kazakh-language animation, children’s cinema, and educational media projects.

“In today’s information world, state borders are protected not only by territory, but also by information,” stressed Danabek Isabekov.
