In 2025, 1,757 former citizens of the Russian Federation obtained Kazakhstani citizenship

In 2025, 15,956,571 foreign citizens entered Kazakhstan, of whom 63,480 did not leave the country. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in response to a request from Kazinform.

– In 2025, 15,956,571 foreign citizens entered the Republic of Kazakhstan, while 15,893,091 left (in 2024, 15,454,808 entered and 15,414,762 left), the statement said.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in 2025, 113,961 foreign citizens were held administratively liable for violating migration legislation, and 18,872 people were expelled from the country. In 2024, these figures were 97,229 and 14,124, respectively.

The ministry also noted that last year, 8,148 Russian citizens received residence permits in Kazakhstan (compared to 9,761 in 2024).

– In 2025, 1,757 former citizens of the Russian Federation obtained Kazakhstani citizenship (in 2024 – 2,148), the Ministry added.
