On July 15, Tokayev arrived in Shanghai on a working visit

President Kassym-Jomart TOKAYEV met with leaders of China’s high-tech companies at a roundtable in Shanghai. He stated that trade turnover between the two countries last year reached a record $49 billion, while Chinese investments in Kazakhstan’s economy exceeded $30 billion.

According to him, more than 8,500 enterprises with Chinese capital are currently operating in Kazakhstan, among the largest being CNPC, CITIC, and Huawei.

“In the past year, the volume of bilateral trade reached $49 billion. This is a record figure. China has invested more than $30 billion in Kazakhstan’s economy,” he said.

He also noted that Kazakhstan already produces HOWO, Yutong, and JAC vehicles, and last year launched multi-brand production of Changan, Great Wall Motor, and Chery.

Tokayev described the current period as the “golden thirty years” of Kazakh-Chinese relations.

It should be recalled that on July 15, Tokayev arrived in Shanghai on a working visit.
