Negotiations with potential investors are currently underway

Kazakhstan plans to launch two new casinos next year – in the Almaty and Mangystau regions. This was announced by Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol MYRZABOSYNOV at a government briefing, according to Kazinform.

According to the minister, work is being carried out jointly with local executive bodies to determine sites for new gambling zones, as well as negotiations with potential investors.

There is already an understanding regarding the Almaty region – Akbulak, where certain infrastructure has been established. Work in other regions is still ongoing,” said Myrzabosynov.

He noted that the facility in the Almaty region could start operating as early as next year.

In Mangystau, the ‘Warm Beach’ project is also planned for next year, once the hotel is completed. In other regions, work is still underway to identify investors,” the minister added.

Earlier it was reported that new gambling zones for foreigners will appear in four regions of Kazakhstan:

  • In the Mangystau region on the Caspian Sea coast;
  • In Panfilov district and on the shore of Lake Alakol in the Zhetysu region;
  • In Talgar district of the Almaty region;
  • In the Markakol area and Zaysan district of East Kazakhstan region.
