Dastan Satpayev Gets a Nickname in England

Satpayev dubbed “Pitbull”

18-year-old Dastan SATPAYEV made his first start for Burnley in the League Cup. Burnley Express journalist Matt SCRAFTON compared the Kazakhstani forward to Carlos TEVEZ, reports offside.kz.

The comparison came after the second-round match against Bradford City, in which Satpayev played 80 minutes. Scrafton highlighted his tenacity on the pitch.

During the game, the journalist likened the 18-year-old Kazakhstan national team striker to former Argentina forward Carlos Tevez.

“Dastan Satpayev is a real pitbull, isn’t he? I’d say he’s more like Carlos Tevez than Sergio AGÜERO. Very tenacious,” Scrafton wrote on social network X.

The Bradford City match marked Satpayev’s first start for Burnley in an official fixture. The Kazakhstani joined the English club on loan from Chelsea. On August 26, 2026, Satpayev made his debut for Burnley, starting in the League Cup second-round tie against Bradford.

Satpayev spent 80 minutes on the pitch, attempted two shots, and completed 35 passes, 30 of them accurate. Burnley lost in a penalty shootout, 2-4.

Earlier, on August 24, Satpayev debuted for Burnley in the Championship’s second round against West Bromwich. He came on in the 57th minute, replacing Josh LAURENT, and played about 35 minutes.
