A ban on exporting gasoline abroad is currently in effect in Kazakhstan

In Kazakhstan, more than 60 attempts to smuggle fuel out of the country were stopped within two days, according to the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At a government meeting on the fuel market situation, Deputy Minister of Finance Yerzhan BIZHANOV reported that in the past two days, 61 attempts to export petroleum products across the Kazakh border were prevented – totaling more than 3 tons of fuel in additional tanks and canisters.

He noted that mobile groups patrol border highways around the clock, inspecting fuel trucks and tankers. In addition, state revenue authorities are checking the operations of 62 gas stations and 22 small refineries, where abnormal growth in service volumes has been detected.

Minister of Internal Affairs Yerzhan SADENOV stated that since the beginning of the year, 593 attempts to illegally export petroleum products have been stopped, with a total volume exceeding 40,000 liters.

Currently, Kazakhstan enforces a ban on the export of gasoline, diesel fuel, and several other petroleum products by road and rail transport, which is planned to be extended for another six months.

Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Energy continues to monitor the fuel market daily. Together with the Antimonopoly Regulation Service, it holds meetings with oil traders to discuss supply, logistics, pricing, and stockpiling issues.
